Cody Ng

Cody Ng is an Associate on the Investment Team at Point72 Ventures, focused on growth-stage investments.

Prior to joining Point72 Ventures, Cody worked in Strategic Finance at Benchling, where he worked on a variety of strategic initiatives including GTM analysis, business partnering, and corporate strategy and finance.

Previously, Cody worked at Oppenheimer & Co.’s Technology Investment Banking group covering internet, digital media, enterprise software, and cloud companies on a variety of M&A, IPO, SPAC, and debt transactions.

Perspective is important.

Having worked as a sell-side investment banker and internal operator at a growth-stage company has helped me develop a more well-rounded perspective on company performance, key internal challenges, and growth drivers. I think perspective and understanding are particularly important in this business, and I’m always excited to “wear two hats” as a growth investor to develop more genuine relationships with founders and leadership teams.

Vertical software will play an even greater role in this decade.

Although software has eaten the world over the past few decades – there are still many traditionally under-targeted industries starving for technological advancement and innovation. I believe that in this decade, we’ll see the rise of even more new startups to serve those industries and companies, and those startups will be the unicorns and decacorns of tomorrow.
