Anup Chamrajnagar is a member of the Investment Team at Point72 Ventures, focused on evaluating and executing investments in consumer/enterprise technology and financial services.
He joined Point72 Ventures from the long/short investing business of Point72, where he covered public companies in the technology and financial services spaces. Prior to joining the Firm, Anup worked in healthcare and TMT investment banking at TAP Advisors and Ferghana Partners.
My first startup experience came from building my own fitness software company.
I learned early about some of the hurdles that early-stage founders face when trying to build multiple components of a business from the ground up, and how to overcome some of the biggest roadblocks to growth while constantly seeking out the best mentors and partners to help in the process.
I firmly believe that failure is a necessary part of success.
Failure happens. At the end of the day, there’s a lesson to be learned from it. If I didn’t recognize where my failures were also opportunities, I’d be in a very different place today.
I feel lucky to be around the smartest founders and operators who are transforming industries.
I spend a large part of my time talking to people across several sectors to understand how certain markets work and where the frictions lie. The most rewarding parts of my job are identifying the issues, helping formulate solutions, and building lasting partnerships with the founders dedicated to solving these problems.
Music is really important to me.
Being in A Cappella, a freestyle rap performance group, and a singer and songwriter have been experiences that keep on giving. Music has a unique power to bring people together and I’ve been grateful to play even a small role in creating it.
